What's New?
Notes from Coach
February 16th 2010 -- Well, the regular season is over
and what a season it was. There were many highs and lows but ultimately, the
Bulldogs did very well considering our lack of depth, injuries, and the losing
some team members.
Against Ship, we wanted to end on a positive note and allow
the fans one last time to see this team wrestle in its entirety. 112 was a
great place to start for us. We continued to rest Enders and gave Fraker a
shot to show his stuff which he did in a 1st period fall. Next up in 119 was
Colten Keck who finished out his dual meet career with a fall as well. Wyatt
Keck followed and secured a major decision at 125. Nate Morris wrestled 130
and won his match as did Jeff Warner at 135, and Mitch Wickard at 140 who
closed out his dual meet career with an exciting overtime victory. We dropped
the next two at 145 and 152 with TJ Nickle and Lee Beecher. Both fought hard
but came up a little short. At 160, Luke Etter finished his dual meet career
with an impressive 2nd period fall. We FF at 171, 215, and 285 but Colby Whitten
managed a fall at 189 for the Bulldogs while still battling a nagging back
injury. To close out the night, Dustin Rook pinned his opponent in the 2nd
period.
Overall, the Bulldogs finished 11-5 which is very respectful. Although we had some ups and downs this year, I believe we had a very successful season in being Co-Champs in the Colonial Division, placing 5th at the Bear Duals, and earing a spot in the District Dual Meet tournament. I would have liked to have beaten Council Rock North in December, and Mechanicsburg in the Districts though.
Our season continues this Saturday at Mechanicsburg with the Section tournament. Wrestling starts at 9am. Please come out and support the Bulldogs as we make a run for the team championship.
Thanks again for all your support.
